Just a few of my thoughts about the age of change.
Personally, I like the "final battle" idea so often hinted at in the old
fluff texts. A new age of terrible battles when
a) The Emperor returns. He can be reborn by the efforts of Illuminati or
whatever.
b) The primarchs return, their souls having been in the Warp with the
Emperor and brought back with him.
c) The Chaos Gods don't like this at all. Abbadon finally manages to unite
the traitor legions and leads a Heresy-sized black crusade forth from the
eye of terror as the new Horus; chaos cults everywhere try to incite
rebellions.
d) The Orks want teir share of the fun and start doing what they always like
the best.
e) Where do the Slann stand? Do they consider the Tyranids or the Crusade a
bigger threat?
f) The Eldar won't most certainly stand aside, but are the humans
far-sighted enough to actually accept help? The Emperor most certainly is,
but even he can't be everywhere at once.
