Hi!
The old WD's for first edition had specific organizational guidelines
for SM, IG, Squats, orks and Choas.

Paul,
In the "real" world, somewhere between three and five companies
generally make up a regiment depending on, which military the regiment
belongs to. It is intentionally flexible to deal with casualties,
replacements, and differing levels of funding. Some militaries like the
IDF (Israeli Defense Force) are even more flexible with individual units
being traded back and forth based upon mission requirements more than
anything else. To a certain degree the US military exhibits this same
"package" flexibility as well. The Red Army is much more
organization-oriented and has in the past not demonstrated this
flexibility.
I've never read fluff that indicated any kind of exact structure for the
IG so I guess that you're free to determine the exact size of your
regiments / brigades! :)
Best regards,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Guys,
I figure you're the best group to ask as you generally have a lot more
organisation to your armies than other epic players.
My question is:
About how many companies make up a regiment?
I've split my IG into three regiments (With 10,11,and 12 companies
respectively) and was wondering how much expansion would be needed to
actually fill the regiments out ;). It probably won't happen, I've sworn
not to go back to collections like I once had, but out of pure
interest.......
Cheers,
Paul "TuffSkull" T.
