I agree, lets keep elite as infantry. Units mounted in stuff already get
the benefit of armor and weapons that should be it.

you may be an expert pilot but that won't make your airplane go
faster or your tank armor survive better. I don't want to get into that
discussion, so I'll restrict Elite status to infantry.
What about reduced move penalties for terrain and better chance to hit,
would represent the human part of the crew being better but agree should
really be left to one off special units than blanket vehicle formations.
