Spartan was a transport made from RT era Land Raider in a gaming era long
time ago. It was a conversion made during Heresy specifically for
transporting terminators, originally for the purpose of penetrating a "ring
of death" (some kind of plasma defence system) made by renegade Adeptus
Mechanicus around important workshops in Mars. Peter probably has the WD
issue lying around somewhere.
IIRC the conversion was pretty simple and would be plauseible even in Epic
scale.
