Why not allow medics to give the troops within, say 20cm, a save of 5+
modified by the weapon strength? (sorry if this has already been suggested -
it's too early in the morning!) That way it'll be possible to staple the
casualties back together from small arms fire, but not from lascannons and
upwards. And none of this 'a 7 = 6 + 4' rubbish! *grin*
