Hi!

According to current rules, you are correct. They function similar to
ground units. What you describe sounds like the flier rules from 3.0 or
alternate rules from Incoming! e-zine. Fliers function on a "mission
basis" in these rules so they come in, act and leave the tabletop
drawing fire as they move. Some prefer these because they are more
realistic, although they are more complex.

Subject: [NetEpic ML] A strange question

I recently viewed NetEpic game which had the fighters entering and
exiting the board each turn from opposing sides. Example: a fighter
straffing would enter from one board edge and move straight toward
the target unit, undergoing AA fire as appropriate and unless
targeted by a dogfighting enemy air unit, it would exit the opposite
side of the board.

Is this normal? or was this game unique? My appreciation of the rules
is that fighters, flyers really, function in terms of movement just
as any other unit with the usuall caveats for being up in the air.

Please advise
Thanks
