Re: [NetEpic ML] [OT] Epic:A

Hi Paul,

I have also been in contact with Jervis and have given both positive
and negative feedback. To be honest, a mailing list is probably the best
forum for this kind of discussion. Epic: Armageddon has been getting more
and more promising and personally I am growing to like the changes, I had
severe reservations about the demo, but really enjoyed the last game of it
I had (even though I lost.... quite badly). I am pleased to note that our
feedback is being reflected in the various revisions of the rules and have
been reporting on the progress of EPIC: Armageddon on the news page of the
NetEpic site.

It appears to be that EPIC: Armageddon is getting back towards the
roots of EPIC, once more we have formations and it feels more like a mass
combat game than E40k did, which has a disjointed feel to it during play.
The new formations allow some flexability which was lacked in the 2nd Ed of
Space Marine with a regular structure that is more in feel with the army
lists. (EG: Space Marines have plenty of small highly structured
formations, Orks have a few large lumbering formations which can be built
in many, many different styles.)

I have set up a yahoo group for it, as it is kinda off topic, so
people who are interested in EPIC: Armageddon can go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EpicA and people who aren't don't have to
download emails about it. What I will say is though, give the new rules a
go, they are one hundred times better than the demo.

Tom.

Subject: [NetEpic ML] [OT] Epic:A

 Hi guys,

I don't know what Netepic's current position is with epic:A, but you guys
are mentioned in the new Epic Newsletter, and Jervis has mentioned you on a
couple of occasions to me me personally. My appologies if this is out of
place entirely.

To quote (Copy & Paste)the news letter:
"Although I've heard a little bit about negative feedback from some players
of previous editions of Epic, when I received the email above no-one (and I
mean no-one) had got in touch with me about it, while I've had literally
hundreds of emails from players that like the look of the new rules. Then,
as luck would have it the very next day I received a long email that was
quite hostile about Epic Armageddon. I was extremely pleased to receive the
email as I'd just about despaired of being sent any negative comments about
EpicA all, and was considering writing directly to the NetEpic guys asking
them to get in touch with me about what they think is wrong with the Epic
Armageddon project. I still feel like I could do with more 'negative'
feedback, so if anybody reading this newsletter feels that the EpicA
project
is flawed or misguided, I would ask them to PLEASE get in touch. The bottom
line is that constructive criticism is always welcome."

Similar sentiments have been echoed in private emails. If any of you do
have
things to say, he really does want to hear them, and if you don't why not?
Is Epic:A shaping up to be that far from what you want that you're ignoring
the game altogether or is it just that you don't think you'll really be
listned to?

If you haven't looked at it since its initial appearance, it has changed
quite a lot, and generally more towards the SM/TL/NE style of game. We've
even persuaded them to change the flyer rules from the E40K system to
something new - though I reserve judgement of new testing before I say that
its good - it just has to be better than the E40K version!

Anyway, I was simply asked to PLEAD for input as heknows you're one group
that will have some negative stuff to say which he wants to hear.

Cheers,
Paul "TuffSkull" T.
