Hi!

It is true primarchs are overused. Every battle I have played using
chaos has had primarchs. That's why perhaps using the legion card as a
regular company card may eliminate having to use demons and greater
demons all the time.

Perhaps this and dividing into chaos powers is enough.

But is the primarch present in _every_ single battle fought by forces of
a legion? Especially since there are countless splinter legions which
have broken off from the parent legion. Besides, not all primarchs are
around any more. Horus and Night Haunter at least have bit the bullet.

-->I'll handle this in two parts. First, the "over use" of the
Primarchs. IMO, this only matters if you're playing a campaign, with
simultaneous battles happening, though played out over different days.
In this case, the Primarch would only be present at 1 battle, while his
troops could be involved in several. Otherwise, it's not that much of
an
issue fluff or rules wise, just a matter of taste. Second, taking on
the
issue of those traitors who have met final retribution. A Chaos
warlord,
leading acrusade IMO can act in the same manor as a Greater Demon.
While
not having any nifty Chaos powers, or serious stats, they are on the
cusp
of being such, and need to have a successful crusade to advance in the
Chaos Corporate structure. In this case, the war lord would either
gather the various units by strength of will, or would have had them
bequeathed to him/her/it by the various powers. Not a big chnage or
rule
bender, just the addition of one paragraph and a stat line.
