In the original white dwarf which released the metal stompas there were 2 different models pictured. I tried a number of times at this time to buy the second one. UK mail order supplied one of the 2 available but couldn't get me one of the second type despite it appearing in the White Dwarf.It appears it was never actually released.
I will search through my old White Dwarfs and find the page and volume numbers and let you know. I am fairly certain this is the Stompa you are after.

Could anyone fill me in on the history of 1st ed Stompas: 1st
appearance in WD or page # in Titanicus? I honestly thought
they were a second ed innovation
