If you're willing to use non-Epic models, do a search for 6mm figures. Yahoo in particular has a group dedicated to it -
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/6mm_Miniatures/ - with a *slew* of sources in the links area. It's mostly good for IG and Marines, with a scattering of Tau and Ork models, but it'll get you started. If you run across a good source for 6mm Tyranid models, please let me know.
