With Knights the bonus lasts for the entire CC phase in which they get it IIRC, even if they are outnumbered.

Tackling a Chaos Horde is not too difficult. Don't play them on their terms. They are a CC army, so you do one of two things.

#1: Bring a shooting army. Blast the heck out of them before they get to you. Each unit you destroy with shooting is one less that gets those insane bonuses you mention. And don't deploy right on the edge of your deployment zone. Use the space you have been given to give yourself time to thin their numbers.

#2: Out-number them. Use lots and lots of cheap troops to out-number them. The good Chaos CC troops are often quite expensive. As such you can easily out-number them and get the bonus dice in CC for it which should allow you to destroy them and still have some troops left.

The best option is to combine #1 and #2. Some armies are much better at it than others (Imperial Guard and Orks for instance) but all armies can beat a Chaos horde. Treat the Greater Daemons like Titans and keep hitting them with lots of good firepower. They eventually fail saves and start to give up their Chaos Cards which reduces the number of insane bonuses they get. And don't forget to capture the objectives. The objective markers are vital against Chaos (especially if your opponent has a significant Khorne component).

Subject: [NetEpic ML] Knights rules?/ How do you stop chaos?!!

Hello again NetEpic folks, a couple of a queries for you:

In the rules it states that knights armed with lances double their CAF
for the first "round" of combat. What does this mean- the first
opponent only, or for the whole close combat phase? In other words,
will a knight have double CAF even if outnumbered, or is it only my
first 2D6 roll that gets the bonus?

My second query is trickier: how do you tackle a chaos horde?!! They
seem to have an outrageous aray of bonusses and special abilities. Any
suggestions that might save me a severe beating gratefully recieved! I
am already thinking that maybe knights, with their CAF boosts might be
a match for demons etc?
