B: Simply change the focus of the Iron Warriors into bunker and trench
assaulting

-->This is the easiest solution. In the current context of the Chaos
lists, Legions such as the Iron Warriors would be limited to specialized
detachment (retinue) cards, and then probably only if a regular Legion
card (ie Thousand Sons) is taken first. The other option, and one which
should be pursued IMO, is to create a specific CSM list. Fluff wise,
Demonic armies are lead by the Greater Demons, while Black Crusades are
almost exclusively CSMs, with some demonic support. In a CSM list,
Greater Demons would be Special cards, with a slightly increased points
cost, but keeping the minor demons and CSM Primarchs the same cost.
As for Lucca's concern about making the CSMs same as SMs, well,
they are really. The biggest difference is amount of equipment (such as
T-Hawks), and lack of organization (exception Alpha Legion IMO). Keep in
mind, before they fell to Chaos, they were Space Marines, and the
equivalent of any of the Loyalist Legions. Some of the traitor legions
have changed more than others over the years, and that should be
reflected as well, but at their core, they are still SM's. Personally, I
think the emphasis on Chaos should focus more on the CSM's and less on
the demonic aspects. Unless of course you're fighting on a demon world,
in which case, anything goes. This way, just as the regular SMs have
their uniqueness, so should the Chaos legions. Though I do suggest that
for both the SMs and CSMs, that we stick solely to the first founding
guys for the most part, adding in only a select few others (Mentor
Legion, Grey Knights, Black Templars, and Huron's traitors). All the
others usually fall under the umbrella of a first founding legion anyway.
