There are so many possibilities....my favorite is still Kursk (IG vs
Orks) in a massive armor battle. Chinese Farm works well too (IG or Orks
vs Eldar). The Winter War also provides many possibilities as well, with
Suosillami (sp?) coming to mind. Budapest 44 or Stalingrad for a good
city fight and lots of infantry. Some from the Korean conflict work well
too, such as the Punch Bowl, Chosin Reservoir, Pusan Perimeter, and even
Inchon (Ig vs Ork or Chaos in these cases). The Yalu R. fights could
also be good for Bugs vs whoever. From early times, GW has already done
Isandlwhana, though Rorke's Drift and Majuba can also be done, as well as
the Siege of Kimberly. The Siege of the Legations at Peking is also a
very interesting scenario (IG-Eldar-Squats vs Chaos-Orks), especially if
you eliminate armor and flyers from the battle. Moving on, Gallipoli is
a great assault on a fortified position, and for those who enjoy body
counts, Ypres, or the Marne work well. And lastly (for now), from WW2 is
the Dunkirk scenario, where "victory" is getting as many of your troops
off the table (by transport-either T-Hawk or equivalent) as possible.
