Officially? No, there isn't anything I'm aware of. Going through the
old RT stuff, there are a couple of chapters that get mentioned, but with
little or no details. In the RT rule book is the one page picture of a
Dark Brotherhood marine, and in the Compendium, the Desert Lions get
mentioned, particularly in regards to the scourging of Isstvan V. Others
get mentioned, most notably on the chapter colors page (Compendium? RT
rules?), but most of those are considered later generation chapters, and
have had additional information provided in more recent publications.
I've heard and espoused several theories on these missing marines. One
of the older theories was that these missing marines became the Legion of
the Damned, but that has changed over the years (they are now the former
Fire Hawks IIRC). Others have theorized that the two chapters have gone
beyond the limits of the Astronomicon, and did so prior to Hours'
rebellion, and are now "lost in the wilds." Yet another idea was that
they were the first to be tainted by Chaos, and destroyed early on, right
down to their gene seed. A more recent concept is that their gene seeds
were unstable, or became so after the Chaos kidnapping, and produced
unstable mutations, and died out. A long time ago on the 40K list,
someone even proffered that the missing chapters were never part of the
original Great Crusade, and have been held in reserve, with one of the
two being the Grey Knights, and the other being a closely guarded secret
of the Administratum. Of course, this relies on the idea that the
Emperor is the primarch for the Grey Knights, and implies that there is
another primarch in stasis somewhere (probably on Terra), waiting for his
time to come. As far as canon goes, any and all of these are valid, as
GW has never deigned to enlighten us as to what they are officially. So,
your guess is as good as mine. Though we could diverge form GW canon a
bit, and decide what they are for NetEpic ourselves.
