Additional company, nice for the larger games. I always thought that the
codex policy of only have one of each Assault, Tactical and Devestator
company and then four battle companies was a bit limiting for the larger
battles.
The first company I always took was a tactical company. Imagine if the
chapter was involved in a pair of battles, one of us would have the tactical
company and the other would have to make do. Unless the 1st company took on
a veteran tactical role.

Hmmm... I'm not at home now so I can't check, but I remember some
article that gave Chapter composition, probably a first edition WD
article, I'll check this later, but I remember that ravenwing was an
"additional" company or perhaps substituted the scouts.
