If you read some of the early works on
fencing, or defense as it was called, you will
note that the actual mutant is modern fencing.
SCA fencing (from what I've seen of it) and
well done theatrical fencing are closer to the
real-"I better get this right cuz' my life depends
on it"-thing. Not space marines, but my two
cents.
