Well, since ASC was the first GW game I played, I am a bit attached to the
old dear. It wasn't really THAT complicated; and it had an earthy, sort of
organic feel which Space Hulk lacked -- space hulk is a bit clinical and
antiseptic; only two types of units (pretty much) and every square is
critical. ASC was much looser and free-flowing.

The vast sprawl of ASC was it's coolest feature; it came complete with a
campaign system! Survivors of one battle would be available later; etc. It
was a cool feeling to explore deeper and deeper into the Tyranid ship,
never knowing what the nature of the next engagement would be. Admittedly,
there were some elements of the game which became repetitive (only four
different mapboards); but on the whole, it was fun and addictive. I'm still
curious about Tyranid Attack.
