I unbased my old stands by clipping them apart with a set of pliers. With
some luck the miniature would 'pop' out of the base. If they didn't, I just
cut of the remainants of the base with a sharp razorknife. I did break some
miniatures but not more than about 10 minis out of 250 bases. I took me
about two evenings to do this.
