Top skimmer flying-base type idea:

Take 1 Flying Base (bottom and pole).

Cut it into three bits:

1) The flat bottom and a bit of pole
2) A middle bit of pole
3) The top of the pole

Where the pole length in 1 is shorter than 2, and 2 is shorter than 3.

With the bottoms, glue your Cobra and Scorpions to them for that
authentic overloaded grav-drive look!
With the middles, mount your vehicles on them for that superb floating
look!
With the tops, mount your Vypers for that incredible, floating above the
trees look!

Comments? I suppose if you kept the bits of metal that the Vypers were
balanced on, you could use them with support platforms.
