Sauron1 writes; The Book of the Austronomicon contains the following about
the White Scars;( c.901.M38-988.M41 )Remember the book is dedicated to 40k

The WhiteScars Chapter of Space Marines as presented here, may be regarded
as a representative example of the Imperiums elite forces. The WhiteScars
have acquired a fearsome reputation, and their name alone will inspire fear
among the cities and enemies of the Imperium.

The WhiteScars are organized in the classic fashion which forms the basis
for all Marine chapters, so the following list can be treated as a
"template' an army of many of the other chapters.

Like most chapters, the WhiteScars are fiercely proud of their heritage and
history, and troopers and officers alike wear the badges with honor and
distinction. The Chapter has been instrumental in achieving many important
victories for the Imperium, not lest of which was teir part of destruction
of the Tyrannized Hive-Fleet 'behemoth' (745 of the current millennium).
Strangely enough remains the White Scars' only action against these foul
creatures of Chaos.

For over 2000 thousand years the Chapter was given the task of policing
dreaded Kolarne Circle. Comprising a densely packed cluster of systems,
Kolarne lies towards the galactic center and close to the domains of the
ork Warlords.
For many years the Chapter not only had to deal with the rebellious
Kolornians but were also engaged in endless battles with the Orks. The
Chapter is currently on a counter-revolutionary tour of the mining systems
of Rad Ox, a small system in the third Quadrant.

The chapter is a mobile one. Its headquarters is the vast, space
barge/monastery 'Constantius' and the WhiteScars fleet numbers over a
hundred craft. The majority of thease are fully warp capable and so the
Chapter has an unusually high number of Astropaths and Navigators attached
to it. The latter include a large number of full brethren, although thease
Marines are rarely committed to battle. Apart from this, the WhiteScars are
remarkable for their courage and tenacity, but the same could be said of
other Chapters.

One unit which is unique to the WhiteScars is the "SoulDrinkers". This
speciallAssault group of which all the members veteran had to hand combat
specialists. The number of squads in the group varies but there is normally
at least one available to the Commander. All of the SoulDrinkers have
Champion status and are armed with Power Swords and Refractor fields in
addition to their power armor. They are drawn from the ranks of normal
companies and represent those marines who have been particularly successful
over the course of previous battles. The SoulDrinkers have full company
status but rarely have more than three squads extant and do not have any
higher officers. The squad leaders ( sergeants )report directly to the
Lieutenant Commander. The SoulDrinkers have their own distinctive shoulder
badges and honor banners and it is every WhiteScars ambition to be chosen
for the unit.

The Chapter also has the capacity to field specially upgraded "COBRA"
squads. These are equipped with jump-packs so they can deploy rapidly and
remain highly mobile. If used, the Cobra squads will be under the direct
command of the company Lieutenant with support from the Jump-pak-equipped
Medics. Each of the Chapters companies is able to equip a portion of its
men as a Cobra force. Companies 4 and 7 maintain a permanent list of 4
squads each for Cobra Squads and thease squads wear appropriate insignia in
addition to their normal Chapter regalia.

Bullock Jet cycles
Imperial Land Speeders
Hellfire Land Speeders ( capacity 10 )
Grav-Attacks (Hoverers capacity 5 )
Another standard Imperial design, the Grav-Attack is the most common hover
vehicle used by both Marine Chapters and the Imperial Army. It is solidly
based on craft of Eldar origin, although Imperial designs tend to be less
streamlined. On worlds of suitable terrain, the Grav-attack takes over the
the battlefield role normally performed by the stalwart Lend Raider.
Medical and Communications variants are included in most munitions stores,
as well as troop carriers and assault versions.
The Eldarian Grav-Attack forms the greater part of most vehicles used by
that race. Most other races use them only infrequently-when captured models
are available.
