 In fact the famous (notorios?) Red Baron was said to only aim at the enemy
pilots, not trying to gun down the plane. And at least at som point in WWI
it was the planes that were on short supply, so the british(?) pilots
didn't get a parachute! But soon they had lost so many pilots that they had
to give them parachutes.
