Hmm...yeah. Perhaps I shoulda said "Many Epic veterans are horribly bitter
about the fact that GW totally redesigned their game....for some good reasons.
I, personally, never really got into the SM/TL. I bought the 2nd ed. boxed
set, a few extra Eldar figs, and soon decided I didn't like it. So I lost
nothing in starting to play E40k. In their zealous re-working (and IMHO,
drastic improvement) of the Epic game, they forgot that there were many people
who had very much invested in the old game. I don't really want to start a
big ol' debate, but, I think that E40k's rules are much more compatible with
the scale. But, if ya wanna play really, really big 40k-ish skirmishes with
the SM/TL rules, it's all good (and I'm not saying that sarcastically or
anything).
