My main army has been Space Marines. I have some IG support, but have
not
used it much yet. I have Eldar, mostly because Space Marines, IG, and
Eldar
were the most generic looking armies (in case I end up playing them in
Dirtside,
which was my original plan), and Eldar fit the "advanced alien
civilization"
slot.
I've got lots of Orks, but so does anyone who has bought the main boxes
and
not sold/traded them off. I picked up a lot of cheap stuff when Epic
things
were discounted before E40K. I like some things about the Orks, but
I've
begun to consider selling them off (after keeping some for individually
mounting
for Epic Stargrunt II). It would be hard for me to let go of 'em,
though.
It is easy to get attached to Orks. I'd like to customize them. I
don't think
I am looking forward to painting them, either. That's partly because
they'll
be harder than Space Marines (spray primer, light coat, wash, guns,
paint/flock
base, spray coat), and partly because I'd need so many of the darn
things. For
now I'll keep them, since it would be easier to talk people into playing
if
I already have enough armies. But I could free up some cash to finish
off
the other armies if I sold 'em.
I also have an old box of Tyranid plastic, for use in Epic Stargrunt II.
And 10 Chaos Space Marines, from winning Jon's first contest for
guessing the
number of emails last time he was away. I'll probably paint some
Marines black
and put them with them for Epic Stargrunt. (Easy to get an army for
that,
just buy one plastic sprue. Of course, I'm having a lot of trouble
getting
the rules for Stargrunt II, so I haven't tried it yet. But I do have
minis
based on washers and painted.)
