---------> Ah-ha! a counter tactic! I will say that it's always tempting
to dump on certain units in any version of Epic (mainly titans and
superheavies) - now if your opponent specifically takes them as bait,
that could be ugly.

-------> Yeah, the movement modifiers especially used to really hurt
those things. Tons O Guns, and you'd end up having to roll a 6 to hit
with them, though with one good turn, you could blow all kinds of things
to scrap. Most memorable performance in one turn was a Mega-G blowing
away 2 warhounds, wiping out a bike detachment and a termie detachment,
and breaking a marine battle company.

------> I think Orks are probably the best ones to do this with as their
units are the "Least fragile" of all the titans, especially in SM/TL.
The gargants could wander around with their heads blown off and still
function, unlike every other titan. You just had to keep hitting them...
(which is what happened to the above MegaG the next turn)

What you have described is one of the main ways to beat the "Flagship
Kill" gambit. The other is the same strategy as taking tanks in WH40K:
Always take more than one. It can be expensive points-wise, but take a
backup for that centerpiece unit- battlecruiser, another Greatship, a
second titan, etc. The old titan battlegroups made this pretty easy - 3
Great Gragants for 1700 points? Twist my arm....
