_Alternative Rules For Epic 40k_

_Overwatch, Flak And Enemy Units With Jump Packs_

A unit which is on overwatch or flak orders may fire at
an enemy unit which has jump packs during the movement
or assault phase, if the unit has moved over terrain it
could not cross without jump packs (e.g buildings) or
moved further than it could without jump packs (e.g space
marine assault troops move 20cm in the movement phase,
without jump packs they could have only moved 10cm).
A unit on overwatch or flak orders can fire at the troops
with jumppacks in assault phase, even if its being charged by
them. However, units on overwatch or flak orders can only
fire at enemy units using jump packs in the assault phase
if they haven't already fired in the movement or fire phase.
Because the units with jump packs are moving very fast,
are close to the ground and are normally only exposing
themselves for a part of their movement, units shooting at
them in the movement or assault phase get no overwatch
rerolls and the jump troops count as being in cover.

_Overwatch, Flak And Enemy Skimmers_

A unit which is on overwatch or flak orders may fire at
enemy skimmer in the movement or assault phase if the
enemy skimmer skims over terrain that ground vehicle
could not go over (e.g buildings, woods). A unit on
overwatch or flak orders can fire at enemy skimmers
'going over terrain'even if its being charged by them.
However units on overwatch or flak orders can only fire at
enemy skimmers in the assault phase if they haven't already
fired in the movement or fire phase. Because enemy skimmers
are moving very fast, are close to the ground and are
normally only exposing themselves for a part of their
movement, units shooting at them in the movement or
assault phase get no overwatch rerolls and the
enemy skimmers count as being in cover.

Note: I suggest that is best to use these rules in
combination with the alternative movement rules
that I have posted to the list.

I acknowledge Erik Rukins contribution to these amended
rules.
