Last time I heard anything, if you used them at a GW store, it was
"officially" ok, but you may need to explain what the minis are to the staff
and other players. The use of older minis is "discouraged" at tourneys, as
they hate having the newer players see the older minis and go, "Hey that's
cool looking. Where did you get it?" I heard one story from the US games day
where that happened, and the GW people groaned, cringed, and dodged away
before the answer was heard.
