I am pretty sure the German Jagdtiger (Hunting Tiger) tank hunter is
the heaviest armoured fighting vehicle in history, clocking in at 78
tons, and mounting a 128mm cannon. It came in late 1944, and thru
1945, and not one was ever knocked out (i think), but were abandoned
because of no fuel. Only 48 were built.
