Also, the Necromunda rulebooks were really shoddy, and fell apart once the
hermetically sealed box was opened.

The value of a rules system is to sell minis; even with the inflated costs
of WH40K and WHFB, a player will still pay ~129 to get a complete rules set
and army book, but will spend $400 in minis. Reducing the costs of rules to
get more players is actually an intelligent plan, and makes me think they
stole the idea from someone else!
