SPACE-MARINE LIST FAQ
*********************

Last updated: 27th August

It is recommended that you keep a copy of this file. If you don't, and
have to ask how to unsubscribe, you will be mercilessly mocked. It is
posted every X days.

Q) How do I post to the list?
A) Send email to space-marine_at_....

Q) How do I subscribe to the list?
A) Send an email to majordomo_at_..., with no subject, containing
only "subscribe space-marine" without the "".

Q) How do I unsubscribe from the list?
A) Send an email to majordomo_at_..., with no subject, containing
only "unsubscribe space-marine" without the "".

Q) Is there a list about my second-favourite wargame, Warhammer 40K /
Battletech / insert game here?
A) Some lists follow... If anyone knows of any others, give me the
address and they'll be included.

~~~
warhammerfb_at_...
Warhammer Fantasy Battles list. To subscribe, send an email to
majordomo_at_... with no subject, containing only "subscribe
warhammerfb" without the "". Warning! Very high volume list. If you
don't appreciate recieveing ~100 emails per day, you want:
~~~

warhammerfb-digest_at_...

As above, but replace "warhammerfb" with "warhammerfb-digest".

~~~
whfb-netcampaign_at_...
Sister-list to warhammerfb_at_.... Same subscription instructions,
but replace "warhammerfb" with "whfb-netcampaign". It's a list for in-
character postings about the Warhammer Fantasy Battles Internet
Campaign. Much lower volume than warhammerfb_at_.
~~~

40k-list_at_...

Warhammer 40K list, possibly the only list in the world that approaches
similar volumes as the Warhammer list. To subscribe, send email to 40k-
list-request_at_... with subject "subscribe", with no "".

~~~
40k-digest_at_...
Digest version of the above. Same subscription procedures, but send the
email to 40k-digest-request.
~~~

Warhammer Quest Mailing List... unknown. If anyone knows where it is,
tell me.

THE HISTORY OF EPIC 40K
***********************

{Note: May be incorrect in the finer points}

Epic first appeared in the form of "Adeptus Titanicus", which contained
only Chaos & Imperial Warlord Titans kicking each other around. In White
Dwarf there appeared additions, letting you add companies of Space
Marines to the battle (which mostly got stepped on). At this point, it
was ridiculously complicated, with unit statlines dependent on whether
they had Frag, Krak or Plasma grenades, for example. After a while this
was released in the "Space Marine: Epic 2nd Edition" form, which wasn't
as complex as Adeptus Titanicus, but more complex than Epic 40K. Various
boxed sets were released for different races, as well as Titan Legions,
which introduced players to the joys of Imperator Titans. Games Workshop
then annoyed everyone by taking it off the shelvesm, only to be replaced
6 months later by "Epic 40K", the plastic infantry of which cost 2.5
times what it used to. Along the way the Squats and Knights disappeared,
only to resurface in the Citadel Journal.
