  This is all of course subject to the vagaries of my memory.
GW 40K related fiction was published several years ago. Some may still be
available.
The first was a compilation of short stories called Deathwing
Following this there were several novels, collectively known as the
Inquisition Wars, all by Ian Watson.
 Inquisitor
 Harlequin
Space Marine (?)
Chaos Child

The Imperial Fists chapter is the one covered in Space Marine, it follows
the recruitment, training and career of Lexandro (IIRC) who becomes a
Captain in the Imperial Fists, he later joins forces with Inquisitor Jaq Draco,
the 'hero' of the other books.
