Thanks. I have been on that list for a long time--I just haven't
resubscribed since my move last month.
After looking over DSII last night, I'm thinking of resubscribing
to ask a specific question about how people have handled guided
missile systems when converting Epic miniatures. There aren't
too many models that would be guided missiles--most could be
SLAMs or rocket or missile artillery. Since GMS vs targets is
done differently than most weapons vs targets, I wasn't sure
that I wanted to clutter up my designs with ECM and PDS. But if
I played against someone else using the full weapons range, I'd
be at a disadvantage, or have to redesign.
I do think DSII would need some hacking for me. I'd let things
shoot all their weapons in range, probably charging for extra
firecons like suggested for large vehicles. I'd like to have
point values for troop types, since how do I account for the
fact that Space Marines aren't going to have green troops (except
maybe in scout companies)? But GZG is pretty much against putting
point values in for troop types (though of course they tell me I
can).
Anyway, although I don't mind some Epic in DSII or Epic rules
compared with DSII here, I'd better not continue this thread here.
