Well, I seem to recall that somewhere it was stated that the "half
strength" value was equal to the number of units the detachment had
to lose before giving up morale. If that is so, then odd numbers
of units are better. For example, in a detachment that has 17 units,
the half strength vaule is 9, so 9 units have to be destroyed for the
detachment to give up morale.
