I mostly play scenarios where I try to infest a planet ( I guess it's
natural for an alien (french) playing tyranids), so my tyranids get grass
flocked bases.

My method is to spray the bases separatly with a cheap light green paint;
glue the almost finished to paint infantry figures ; finish to paint the
figures ( some dry brush & varnish) . Then I mix some PVA-glue with dark
angel green and some water, paint the parts of the bases I want to flock
with that green glue and dive the unit into the grass flock. Then I varnish
it again.

Of course I do a lot of painting work before removing every single figure
from the grapp.
