You are correct, important distinction. If it "runs" into it then no holofield is allowed. That applies only when fired.

Skimmers are ONLY pinned by other skimmers, so as per pinning rules it "could" ignore the unit its engaged with (not particularly smart, but possible) and shoot at something else. SO if its on first fire it could pop-up if engaged IF not pinned by a skimmer.
