Hi!
It's not what you use is how you use it. It not just using tunnelers and
other units is HOW. If your using a infantry screen to keep up with the
titan they are usually on advance meaning a well placed tunneler or
t-hawk will bypass them and they won't fire until after the titan has
been engaged (a moot point by then). More importantly you invariably
engage the titan blind-side where none of its weapons can bear (as well
as providing cover from being shot at by other units).
Point is, it's far easier for me to maneuver into position than it is
for the opponent to stop me. All I need is 5 stands blindside and the
titan is toast. Pretty easy to do when the rest of the army has the
opponent engaged with superior numbers (I would bring any titans with
the old rule in effect).
Oh well, we can talk into blue in the face I guess. As they say "agree
to disagree".
To bad I don't live anywhere near you, you young wipper snapper or I'd
show ya!! <grin>
Anything else in the rules that you'd like to change? Its good to see as
many opinions as possible.
Peter

<sigh>
we can all sit here and say " yeah, well I'd just do this and I'd win"
what I'm saying is just that if you don't support your titans - or
indeed, any unit, then you'll loose it.
I've had tunnelers tried on me, thunderhawks, etc... sometimes they
did ok, but more often they died... unless they threw enough troops
(points) into the fight to simply outmatch the titan and it's
support. if I loose a 500 pt titan, and 300 points worth of infantry
support to someone being able to concentrate 1000+ points of units at
them all at once... well, that's how you WIN battles. You optimise
the amount of fire that you can pour into the enemy, and minimize the
amount they can pout into you.
If anyone is in toronto, I'd have no problems with a demonstration.
superior TACTICS win fights... and if your good, your constantly
changing your tactics.
