Hehe :)
Well, originally this was more about needing the flexibility
of different mechs. I only mentioned the few company cards,
because this would allow for more. The Slann have no superheavies
either, so i think a few more mech choices are in order.
Necrons also need more company cards, as it stands now, me and Nils have made a company card out of 3 detachments of Necron Protectors, at 450 points.
What i really can't understand, is why this is such a big deal?
I didnt propose any groundbreaking changes. I just wanted to be
able to field different kinds of mechs, better suited to their
role. After all, it is important to bring the right kind of
equipment for the job. Making 5-6 different types of mechs just
seems like a waste, when you can have 1 type with upgrades available. Have you even looked at the upgrades i made
and compared with the existing units? Sit down and make a few
different mech types, then tell me what's wrong with them, so
i can modify the costs or whatever. The different mech types
will have no impact on game balance. If any, they will be easier
to take out (like close combat mechs, infantry support mechs)
as they will have to be used actively closer to the front.
They can be tough to take out when used as support. Just standing
in the back, firing on FF.
