Also, remember we need to increase the prices on praetorians, it's a
well known fact they are grossly underpriced. So the leviathan should be
your test subject, since it should cost 500 points. It SHOULD lose
against the colossus since that unit should cost around 700 points. SO
its not much of a question of it not being worth 500 points, its that
your test subjects are grossly underpriced.
Also, in case of the super heavies, a combination of the "see warp gate"
power and firing from behind (with the additional -2 to the armor saves)
should make quick work of them. In battle in open ground favors the unit
with more dice to fire, part of the slanns defense is to warp jump
around cover to close the gap and either fire from the side or rear to
gain the benefit of weaker armor.

I did a battle between a company of 3 shadowswords as well (they also
cost
500).
The SMM lasted either 1 or 2 rounds, and generally killed one SS, or
damaged
two.
That Volcano Cannon is lethal :)
