Plus I like painting up my command minis to look special, with banners etc.

Tom.

Hi!

I thought of that once and actually implemented it, it's a good idea the
problem is that now most players use the command minis and its obvious
what is what now so its harder to implement if the minis are clearly
different.

Should the section HQ be obvious on the battlefield?
In some historical games, where all the troops look
very similar, it is common practice to have a sticker
on the underside of each mini with their ID written on
it. Something like "B company" or "Sgt", or whatever
is appropriate for the situation. That way, only the
controlling player would know which base has "Sec HQ"
written on the underside - but it can be easily
revealed if a dispute arises.

Many years ago, when the only minis available were
generic Marines or Orcs from the Space Marine box, I
wrote 'Tactical' or 'Devastator' or 'Assault' in tiny
white letters on the bevelled edge at the back of each
stand. Similar idea, but of course my eyesight was
better back then!
