Hi,

You can tell him that the termies dont actually carry the
teleporting equipment with them, they are teleported by a
machine. I dont know if this is in corrolation with the fluff,
but it would explain why to a logic freak (like myself :)
And no, they cant beam around like Star Trek, cause their
technology only allows one way travel unless they have a ground
based teleporting machine. Of course, this could lead to the
question of why they dont teleport one of these in with them,
but they are probably to big to fit :) If he asks why they havnt built a smaller one yet, tell him that he can always make one himself
(I suggest reading Calvin&Hobbes on how to make timemachines,
teleporters, replicators and the like ;)
