[NetEpic ML] Shield Systems

Here's an alternative shield system (maybe can be used for a house army)

AT Field
AT Fields are high density energy shields that operate on much the same
lines as void shields.

AT Fields are ablative, but operate in a slightly different way. All Fields
are given a Strength Rating. Usually this Rating will be between 4-6.

If a Field is hit roll a D6 and ADD the target save modifier to the roll (ie
a -2 TSM weapon will ADD two to the roll). If the final number is not higher
the the fields rating then there is no effect. If the number is higher then
the rating then the unit is hit as if the shield did not exist. In addition
the Fields Rating is reduced by 1.

Even weapons that would otherwise immediately down all shields on a unit
(Gutbuster, vortex field) have a unique interaction with the AT field.

In these cases roll a D6. This is the number of Rating points that are
knocked down by the attack. No other ill effects are suffered, even if this
would reduce the unit below 0 Field Rating. If the attack was a vortex
template then the collapsing fields "push" the unit to the nearest template
edge.

Units with AT fields may attempt to regerate Field Ratings by rolling a D6
at the End Phase. On a 6 one Rating point is restored.

PS: Yes I stole the name from Neon Genesis Evangelion
