To be honest, I quite like Warmaster as it is. It is one of the few GW
games which I see no problems that require fixing.

Peter,
Warmaster is a good game but I would like to see a
10mm Net Epic Fantasy. I have pictures in my mind
based on the 10mm Kallistra line. Nice figs and same
basing as Warmaster. There are 6 races, which include
Barbarians, dwarve, high eleves, dark elves, undead
and skaven. Priced aalmost as cheaply as Pendraken.
Better yet most of their strip stands are Pendraken
resculpts. I will take a some pics of my barbarian
army, not yet finished.
I was thinking of a d10 system. Regular infantry would
not receive wounds/hits but their armor save/toughness
would factor in, whereas in Warmaster everything has
hits. I would reserve this for calvary, monsters, war
machines and special units. I would also resolve
combat differently than Net Epic 4.1. Units that lose
CC would have to make their armor save to remain in
the game and be pushed. When pushed back they must
make a morale/command test to see if they break and
route or just be pushed back and regroup. The
pursurers would also make a morale/command test to
pursue. Pursurers would get a bonus on the follow-up
attack. LOS would be important as some weapons
couldn't be fired through troops but over them. There
would be formations, skirmishers and bonuses for side
and rear attacks.
Kallistra is a good start because the basic armies
would contain roughly 10 different units each based on
their exisiting line. This could be added further with
the use of Pendraken and of course GW minis which are
the best of all the 10mm even if they are priced high.
But you can find them cheaply if you shop around.
I really like Warmaster but it lacks the grandness of
our Net Epic and other mass combat games. In a battle
of a 1000 pts you have roughly 25-30 stands per side
on the table in a larger game double that. In a
typical Net Epic SM game you would have many more
units on the table. Warmaster has a good ruleset but
it is more of WHFB but smaller. In a typical WHFB game
you have many minis on the table. I like to build
large armies, 100 stands per side and fight over
objectives.
So if you or anyone else for that matter want to take
up this project let me know and I will gladly help out
with it. I have a lot of ideas in my head.
