Re: [NetEpic ML] Epic A: should we say someting?
I don't think that is such a good idea just to leave them to it. We
left them to it when they were writing epic 40K at look at the bloody
mess they inflicted on us! No, something needs to be said. If epic is
ever to be returned to its former glory then the direction they are
taking leads it into the abyss to be forgotten. The petition is a good
step and the names and emails of every epic member opposed to the
current EA should be listed and sent. Other communities need to be
contacted to do the same. If a full scale mobilisation of the epic
community can be acheieved (And mass emails and protests are to be
sent) then it might be enough to shake GW into choosing a better
direction for epic. I can just see jervis face when he comes to his
machine and has 9 million new emails waiting for him! 8) Maybe then
he will swallow his pride...
-->Leaving them on their own is a mistake, but so is just out right
condemnation of EA. The fact of teh matter is this: The basics are not
going to change. Period. EA is going to take a rather abstracted view
of game mechanics, and how things work. The days of AT, SM, SM/TL are
over, except through NetEpic. It will never again be that way in
anything that comes from GW, ever. As I said in my other post, when
writing to Jervis and company, be as specific as possible when pointing
out where we believe they are going wrong, and why. Then, give them
suggestions on how to alter or fix the problem. Be as specific when
stating what sort of things we're looking for as well, and why. They are
not going to listen to any "we hate you" email, no matter how many names
or what not appear on it. Why? They know like we do that such things
can be faked rather easilly, and so have little over all value. That's
why we follow up with individual emails, following teh above guidelines.
If you don't care one way or another, then do nothing. Or if all you
want to do is bash them for doing what they are, then also do nothing.
Constructive criticism is the key here. Plain ordinary bashing isn't
going to do any good.
