Hi!
The fact that they are being done in metal isn't the sticking point that
fact that they are permanently on strips is. If they made them in metal
and individually to mount as one desires it would be a lot better.

To be honest, I understand the problem from Jervis' point of
view. Plastics are expensive to manufacture. Massively expensive. To
make sure they make a profit they have to be guaranteed of selling the
product in its thousands. This they can do with the 40K kits and the
Warhamster regiments and so they can justify the US$15K+ set-up
costs. With Epic, there is no guarantee, just like with Warmaster.
Metals
are much cheaper to set-up and as a result they can produce them for the
more specialist games like Epic and Warmaster. Sure, we're gonna hate
it
as its going to make putting them onto square bases harder, but I think
they are up against a pretty hard brick wall. These metals are
obviously
the way they are going to have to go. So if you're looking to expand
your
Epic collection and still want to use square bases, I think investing in
some good quality metal clipper will be the way to go.
Personally, if they can keep the kind of detail the Resins show, I'm
just
going to have get myself a Tau army. If they release them in the Metal
that is....
