Being there from the 1st edition isn't automatically good, and IMHO
Beastmen are bad. Saying "how can anything be out of flavour for an
army that includes units from every human world that doesn't raise a
SM chapter and then has to fight in every form of terrain and
climatic condition" potentially justifies any kind of weird/cheesy
unit I could imagine.

is taking it a bit far in the other direction.
There needs to be a "happy medium" between the two extremes I for one would
like to see the mutants still have a place in IG and have bikes and rough
riders but would be happy to lose the Landspeeders as to me that is
definitely a SM unit not a IG one but the bikes and jump packs are more
general issue equipment and should be available to both.
