Actually it's not new. It's been around since the first "Realm of Chaos" books and possibly even longer. For some reason it was dropped at the time of 40k2.

This is true, but Khorne favors strong warriors and such. How does this compare with the decandent hemaphrodites of Slaanesh?

Maybe, but Tzeentch represents change while Nurgle represents stagnation and that's the reason of their hatred.
