Yo Yar!
I wouldn't bring it up since it is one of the two most flamable topics ever
to be discussed on this list.... But her goes! You've removed the wind rider
host from the core Eldar army selection!!!! Now youd have to play a spesific
army in order to get it!!!! And you've removed the spirit host aswell....
However any known Craftworld may take that! It is of course in accordance
with the official GW fluff.... but I kinda like my Eldar Juste the way they
are, besides many changes to a list may unbalance an army!!! And it is my
experience (except for Slann) that when we try to make radical changes we
end up going back to the original after a couple of playtesting sessions...
As for the reason for sticking wit 4.1 or 3.1 as is the case for myself it
is because I did'nt see any need for a new rules revision... I was of the
opinion that if it aint broke then don't try to fix it! And besides.... The
Norwegian Crew have spent the last couple of years palytesting armies...
First Slann, then Hoe and Chaos.... So we're kinda tired of new ideas wich
needs testing......
However, Expect us to get more involved when we get to the Slann List......
I guess, that besides Hellriech, Peter, Rune and I there aren't that many
Slann players around??? Or is there??? I would love to hear from anyone with
experience with the slann! Proposed changes, tactics etc. etc.
Nils
PS: There is rumors of a Slann Civil war rageing in the Northern
Quadrant.... More on this later......

Subject: [NetEpic ML] [v5.0] It works! By God, it works!
ROTFLMAO!
I've been wondering if anyone except Peter ever actually read anything I was
working on. It's rather nice to know that this list isn't just some vast
emptiness with lurkers and leeches galore. That being said, here're my
opinions.
First, I don't like the idea of a designer / player separation. Yes, it'd
make
the process go faster, but we'd lose the vast amount of input from a large
cross-section of gamers. My stuff may look good, but I know I'm neither
creative nor motivated enough to do a good job without massive input from
the
list. I'd prefer the slow-and-hear-from-everyone method.
Second, after hearing that you may ask, "In that case why the hell are you
putting out so many army books so damn fast?" A) It's a lot of gunt
cut&paste&reformat that I'd have to do eventually anyway so I'll get it done
while I've got time available, B) I've a lot of fundamental changes I want
to
propose and get people thinking about, and C) the list needs a good swift
kick
in the ass to get off it's collective rear end and *DO* something. Looks
like
it worked, finally.
As far as multiple version go, I'd prefer one standard version of Net Epic
5.
Anyone who wants to stay with 4.X, no worries - I know folks who swear by
SM2
and won't use anything more receint. Anyone who wants to make their own
version and play with that, fine - the Epicenter should probably have a
section for variants and house rules. A lot of my personal material (like
the
army cards) will go there. I don't have a problem with the idea, but I'll
not
put any special effort into helping you, either.
Finally, I'll re-state something I said a long time ago. "It's fine if you
don't like it - just say why and give me alternatives." You don't recognize
the Eldar? Fine! Why? What in specific don't you like? Rather than my
changes,
what improvements do you have? Show me you're putting some effort into
making
the game better as opposed to resisting any change, and while I may not
agree
with you, you'll get my respect for working hard.
Oh, and a note to the Berlin & Norwegian crews (who are the only ones I know
of to speak directly to). Please send me your stuff! Ideas, house rules,
reasons for staying with 4.1 - opinions! I've lots of ideas but with only
personal experience to draw from, my material is biased towards my personal
preferences. If we're going to create a mutually acceptable version, I need
input.
-Yar
