RE: [NetEpic ML] [OT] 15mm fantasy?

Hi!

Thanks Paul for posting all the links! Indeed the demonworld game was
the one I had mentioned, high quality, and high price. I would invite
people to look into Pendraken, cool stuff at a good price.

Peter

Hi Jyrki & all,

long time no mail on here for me ;o)

Having not been following NETepic that closely lately (shame on me..) I
dont
feel I should comment on most of the current discussions, however 15mm
fantasy is one area I know quite well.

Pendraken Do a nice line of 15mm Dwarves. Not that many poses (well, 5
models actually...), but they're pretty cool IMHO. They also have some
other
races but they're not quite as nice from what I've seen.

Alternative armies have a big range and are a good price/quality ratio.
Their elven range is mostly superb but have a few oddities - the elven
princess/enchantress look more like orcs than fair elven maidens. Having
said that, their gobinoid range is cool and I'd definitely reccommend
their
flying wyvern.

The cheapest range available that I've seen is from Irregular. I havent
had
any experience with their 15mm fantasy stuff, but have a large amount of
their 6mm Napolionics and WWII stuff in various scales. You get it damn
cheap, but the quality is rather poor. I havent ordered from them in a
few
years because of this and am not planning to use them again.

In contrast, The highest quality ranges available are from Hobby
Products.
This is probably the link which peter posted originally. The models are
superb with a few exceptions (Snow trolls or something lie that - look
like
pipe-cleaner models with sculpted faces.....) but you do pay for what
you
get. They run to about twice that of Pendraken etc.

If you want more info and/or photos of some of my 15mm stuff, feel free
to
email me personally.

Oh, and if you want a decent game to use your 15mm fantasy figures with,
watch out for a game called The Age of Fantasy Kingdoms (AoFK) being
released later this year. Its by a company called "TuffNett Productions
Ltd"
or something weird like that. Wonder where they got a name like that
from.... ;o)

Cheers,
Paul "TuffSkull" T.
(Finally starting to get back to reality...)

> Ok, I know I asked this question some time ago but somehow deleted the
answer and I can't seem to find it with the search. Do you know any
decent
manyfacturers of 15mm fantasy figures? I know about Thanes Games (Armies
of
arcana) but I'm sure there are others. IIRC Peter posted a link to a
German
company the last time I asked this question.
