[UPDATE] Changes to Epic40k.com and NetEPIC.org clarification

We will be keeping the sites seperate under my proposal, so the sites will remain unique and unchanged. There is just a menu on the front page which asks if you want to go to either:

    NetEPIC.org
    Epic40k.com
    Incoming!

Then it sends you to the relevant directory, if you want to go straight to the site of your choice then you can save the link as a favourite, for example, the original Epic40k.com site is now currently located at www.epic40k.com/EPIC40k Netepic will be from tonight moved to www.netepic.org/NETEPIC .

If you go a root domain, for example www.epic40k.com or www.netepic.org then you will be taken to the main menu page. Where you will find, first of all the latest news, and then a trio of icons leading you to either the Incoming! page, or to either the Epic40k site, or to the NetEPIC site. There will be no data loss.

The only difference is that unless you bookmark the new site, there will be a brief stage before you get to it, rather than having a direct link to through the URL. This will let us get another URL in the future for VOID and possibly Epic:A if it takes off. This not only saves money but allows us to create a hub.

One thing that might be worth doing and I will discuss this with Iain, is including a link to the forums from this main menu, so in effect it becomes a hub for the Epic community, a gallerys subdomain would also be useful. From here would link to sites with Epic pictures, like Jimbos for example if he was interested.

The proposal does not replace or remove anything, or cause significant chance to the way you use your sites, it just cuts costs and helps bring the community together.
