Hi!
Well, I'm glad this matter can be resolved peacefully and we can all
understand that whatever was voted out will be removed in due time and
whatever points were missed or forgotten may be discussed again and
again until the resolution is acceptable. Whatever extra points Jar
wishes to add to the codexes can either be highlighted or duly marked as
an optional idea or contribution for addition input.
Thanks for all the input.
Jar, I sent you a couple of e-mails that bounced back, but you have
pretty much settled everything so there is no need to resend the
messages, thanks!
Peter

Subject: [NetEpic ML] Tyranids & things
1) I put the artillery and flier rules into my ideas folder several
weeks before I put up a version of the core rules including 'em. The
artillery proposal was uploaded on March 4 (message #16766), and
fliers/aerospace on March 22 (#16966) and I didn't change the core
rules 'till March 29 (#17031). Perhaps not long enough for good
playtesting, but three weeks should be enough to at least initiate a
discussion.
And yes, my bad on the haste of the flier rules. We should probably
go over it again.
2) Every time I significantly edit the core rules I put out a new
version. Should I begin putting out a new version every time I change
a sentence?
Mon 6 Jan: Net Epic Core Rules v5E.pdf - Minor revisions, slight
reorganization, added the Flier/Aerospace and Artillery rules.
Wed 19 Feb: Net Epic Core Rules v5F.pdf - Characteristic
descriptions, glossary, better Squat description and a color cover!
Sat 29 Mar: Net Epic Core Rules v5G.pdf - New titan defense rules.
3) I'll freely admit that I'm opinionated. I'll also admit that I'm
nowhere near as good as Peter when it comes to separating my work and
my personal feelings - I've been called to task on that here before.
My apologies for not being a professional editor. However, I'd like
to think that I can be taught and have been doing better. Most of my
Chaos units were voted down, as was my army construction proposal.
They're gone. Nobody really liked my new Chaos cards, but since the
vote was close and nobody said "I don't like *that* card" I left 'em
in. Unfair? I think not. Unpopular? Yes.
4) Looking back at the army construction discussion (say that 3 times
fast!) I realize there weren't any polls about it, nor any firm
resolution. What say folks? Leave it as is, or put up polls & go back
to all the army books we've already done? Not an enormous job, just
annoying.
Finally, my email's been wonky and rejecting all incoming messages.
I've been reading the list from the Yahoo site, so private messages
probably need to be resent.
