Mmmm disagree with last argument. As you said is a desperate move, full
of
pathos and very heroic... but imagine this:

"Ok, the reactor is down, the weapon is lost, the carapace is like a
fucking cheese and we are surrounded by abominations... MAY OUR LIVES
SERVE
DIVINE EMPEROR!!!"
"Alt Captain, there are one or us in the probably extreme range of the
explosion"
"Uh? What do you mean?"
"If we explode there are a chance to caught in the explosion our men, I
can't let this"
"Don't be silly, in this Titan there are plenty of men!!!"
"That's no way, if the explosion caught our men we are damned!!"
"But there are daemons all around!!! They are dead meat anyway!!!"
"No Captain, hope is last to die"
"But they also will go to heaven, as martyr of the Imperium!!"
"Mmmmm yes, but..."

At this point the demons destroy the titan and kill all men.

I hope this help!!!!
